The Project
A major development project on the former Stag Brewery site opposite Victoria, Cardinal Place was completed in February 2006. The new buildings, predominantly in glass, have provided retail units and cafes at street level with six to nine storeys of offices above.
The external space is partly covered by an elegant glass canopy at high level to provide year-round weather protection. A full arts programme was included in the detail design of the public realm.
This development has made a major contribution to the public space in Victoria, which aimed to create a year-round destination which attracts office workers, shoppers and tourists throughout the day and into the evening.
