Located next to the beachfront of the Wenchang area of Hainan, the development looks to create a new resort hotel with good views and access to the water as well as conferencing and banqueting facilities with exquisite outdoor experience.
Inspired by the openness of the site and its connection with nature and the water, the design reflects the form of a crescent moon in the middle of the sea, giving a sense of place within such beauty open land. The building 'floats' on a body of water which hosts banqueting and conference facilities as well as a series of themed restaurants and bars.
To enhance the experience of nature and sustainability, at the top levels of section of the building is connected by a internal 'forests' which is home to cafe, bars and restaurants that opens to infinity views to the sea. The hotel's single loading layout allow of cross ventilation bringing in wind from the coast giving a true sense of 'living by the sea'.
The building is also designed with a mechanic roof that automatically response to lighting and opens and closes according to weather giving views to the sky as change in lighting to reflect the mood and spirit of the season.
