Inspired by the precious pearls found in natural water, the design takes existing marsh land and unused land and turn them into 'precious pearl gem' islands each one connecting to the next forming a elegant pearl chain. The connection of the islands form different character and use of land creating a harmonious link between the east (commercial hub) and west side (retreat quiet zone) of the lake offering different experience and characteristics of space and architecture, from beach front to private boat moorings, from private villas to convention centre. At the heart of the development rest the 'black pearl', a 5-star hotel that will hosts conventions and exhibitions as well as events and the tallest building in the area. Strategically, the master plan is ecologically design so that it harmonises the existing with the new interventions. Existing fish ponds and marsh land are retained to encourage wildlife, strategic cycling paths are designed to encourage people to leave their cars behind, a water taxi system is provided for crossing to both sides as well as to other local areas and a large area has been reserved for wind farming that will help to generate up to 30% of the overall power use creating a 'clean retreat home'.
