The group is lined up to partner Westfield for the UK’s largest indoor ski facility at Stratford City, which is expected to be more than double the size of similar UK schemes. Westfield will submit a planning application to the London Legacy Development Corporation by the end of the summer for the major leisure destination, which will also include shops, hotels and restaurants. The deal is a welcome return to Stratford for Acer Snowmec. It had brought former British alpine ski racer Konrad Bartelski on board to help design the real snow slope. Bartelski is expected to be involved in the new Westfield project. Acer Snowmec has been involved with a series of ski ?centres, including the 250,000 sq ft Ski Dubai centre, which features an 85m indoor mountain with five ski slopes.
