This site is reclaimed industrial land and the project was a prestigious public realm residential and hotel development on the Thames. This was the first residential development at Canary Wharf enabling people to live close to their place of work.
The project included the creation of a roof garden for the five star hotel and a new linear public realm animated by cafes/restaurants on a waterfront setting. The riverside is a key element in wider pedestrian connectivity in the area.
The landscape divides into two sections with a firm distinction between the two: the public realm space wraps around the site, while private garden or roof garden areas, built over underground parking, are enclosed by the residential blocks. The private space has been designed to act as outdoor rooms for the hotel and apartment.
